Cookie disclosure pursuant to Article 13 of the Italian Privacy Code and in accordance with the decision of the Italian Data Protection Authority dated 08.05.2014
Cookies are small strings of text that websites visited by the user send to the user’s terminal, where they are stored and later sent back to the same websites during subsequent visits by the same user.
Cookies are categorized by purpose into technical cookies and profiling cookies, and by origin into first-party cookies and third-party cookies, depending on who installs them.
Technical cookies are “used solely for the purpose of transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service” (see Article 122, paragraph 1 of the Privacy Code).
They include:
Browsing or session cookies: ensure normal navigation and use of the website.
Analytics cookies: treated as technical cookies if used directly by the site operator to collect aggregated information on the number of users and how they visit the site.
Functionality cookies: allow navigation based on selected criteria (e.g., language) to improve the service provided.
No prior consent from users is required for the use of technical cookies.
Profiling cookies are used to create user profiles and to send advertising messages in line with preferences shown while browsing.
These cookies require the user’s prior consent.
Depending on whether the cookie is installed by the same operator of the visited site or by a different party through the first, cookies are defined as first-party or third-party cookies.
